Enviro Kids week 10 Term 3 2014

Kia Ora Whanau!

Wow the term has gone very fast!

This week we asked Bob to add some compost to the two gardens outside Room 8 and dig them over for us. THANK YOU BOB!

This meant we were able to plant our seed potatoes. We have two varieties. One is called Rocket, which we think will grow very quickly. The other is called Purple Passion, which we think might have purple skin. We will wait and see if we are right.

We made sure that they were down far enough in the trench and then we covered them with just enough soil to allow them to sprout.

Our new mint plants are growing really well too! Great job Enviro Kids!

Have a great two weeks holiday everyone!
See you all next term!

Enviro Kids Week 9 Term 3 2014

Kia Ora Everyone!

This week we have done a lot of maxi-weeding and preparation in our gardens.

We took out the old silverbeet and spinach plants and herbs from the gardens by Room 8. We had to heave and heave and heave to get them out! What great teamwork!

Everybody got some mint or lemon verbena plants to take home and plant in their own gardens.

The leaves went to the worm farm, Awesome work Enviro Kids!

Enviro Kids Week 8 Term 3 2014

Kia Ora Everyone!

This week we have added silverbeet seedlings to our gardens and continued to water our strawberry patch.

If you look closely, you can see a tiny strawberry beginning to grow inside each flower.
Watch this space!
