Enviro Kids Week 9 Term 3 2013

Kia Ora Whanau!

Welcome to week 9 and our final week of the term.

This week the Enviro Kids have planted some seed potatoes that will be ready to harvest before the Christmas holidays.

 

We made sure that they had all sprouted.

 

 

We dug two trenches to put the potatoes in.

 

 

Then we carefully placed the seed potatoes into the trench and covered them lightly with soil.

 

 

Now we will watch for green shoots popping up and cover them with more soil.

We are very grateful for the rain we have had this week. It has meant that our strawberries had a real growth spurt.

Kia ora everyone!

What a great week for harvesting!

After taking such good care of our silverbeet plants we have been able to share a big harvest.

This week all the Enviro Kids got to take some home to share with their whanau.
