Enviro Kids Week 10 Term 2 2015

Kia Ora Whanau!

This week the Enviro Kids created their mini hanging gardens.
We got our half bottles from Mrs Hart and drew faces on them.

Then we pushed the string through the little holes at the sides and tied it to make the handle.

(Here is how our gardens will look when the seeds have sprouted.)

Then we went outside to put the potting mix into the bottles.

Then we lined up to get our seeds.

We are looking forward to watching our seeds grow!

And that is all for Enviro Kids for Term 2.

PS: This is the last blog I will be doing since I am retiring from full time classroom work and taking up relief teaching instead. It has been a great pleasure to work with all the gardeners over the last five years! This means that a new person is taking over the Enviro Kids. We are very happy to welcome Mrs Joan Maitland to the group!
Happy Gardening Everyone!

  1. Dear Ms Hanline and Mrs Hart,
Thank you so much for your time and effort in the gardening group, it makes a real difference to the learning of those students and to the environment of the whole school. Here is a picture of Amelia's hanging garden - with hair!
